Wealth disparity in America.
The following are some of my proposed solutions for solving some of Americas problems.
If you are an average American, like me, I would like you ask yourself a question. How many people do you know personally that make more than 5 million dollars a year. If you are like me or like most Americans the answer is probably none. The other question I would like you to ask yourself is how many military service personnel have you ever heard of that have been killed in combat or while they were in the service that were from a rich family, a family or individual that earns at least 5 million dollars in income per year. Again if you are like most Americans the answer is probably none. So why should we be so concerned about the very people who keep the average American from earning a decent salary. This is the very reason unions were formed because rich people and I refuse to call them Americans, took advantage of the poor. Sure you might say well there is a middle class now and life is better, really lets take a look at how life has gotten better. Most middle class Americans pay almost the same taxes that the rich pay. Middle class Americans who can afford it either help or pay for their sons and daughters college. I doubt very seriously if there are any rich people who don't pay for their sons and daughters college education, at some of the most expensive colleges in the country. When they graduate they are offered the best jobs because they have received the best education money can buy.
Some of you might say how can we cap someone's income that's not fair. Have any of you heard of the NFL National Football League. The owners got together and decided to cap football player incomes because it was costing them too much of their profits. The players of course went on strike to rebel against the salary cap but the owners had too much money and eventually won out. I'm proposing the same thing a salary cap because the very few in this country have all the power and money. The rich can buy politicians and in turn get politicians to introduce legislature favorable to the rich. I'm sure some of you have heard of big companies donating money to both democrats and republicans, so no matter which political party wins they still have the politicians on their side. Of course most of the rich would prefer republicans, like Bush, who will do their bidding much easier.
I propose to limit the individual income of all Americans to 5 million dollars per year. Individuals who currently have more than 5 million dollars in assets may keep their money but if they accrue more than 5 million dollars in any form will pay the excess in taxes. The increase in taxes collected from the rich should lower the tax burden on middle and lower income Americans. Hopefully we will finally be able to make taxes fare for everyone and all Americans can share in the American dream.
There will be health care for every American rich or poor.
All people wanting to be U.S. citizens, whether they or born in the U.S. or not, rich or poor, must serve their country for 2 years either in the military service or by doing community service work of some kind. Except in hardship cases or people with medical disabilities.
The minimum wage will be based on a formula, the rich Americans who make 5 million dallars a year make 450 times more than the minimum wage. I will keep this ratio. If for some reason the minimum wage must be raised the higher income ceiling will also be raised to keep the same ratio.
All state colleges in the U.S. will be free to all Americans wishing an education.
All businesses in the U.S. must be majority (51%) owned by U.S. citizens.
Any business that performs manufacturing or service offshore will be penalized by an import duty tax on goods and services.
Our borders will be closed and immigration will be limited to relatives or sponsors of American citizens.
Educational benefits for GI's will not have any time limitations.
Clean air policies will be weighted toward keeping our environment clean and safe.
Alternative energies will be maximized to try and do away with fossil fuels and other polluting forms of energy.
Lobbyists will not be allowed to give money to members of congress.
When running for office such as a U.S. Representative or Senator, free air time will be given for debates, so everyone has an equal chance and only the views of the candidates running will matter, not how much money they can raise for TV ads. Also a limit of two terms should be applied to elected office.
Note: But a U.S. Representative after completing two terms can run for any other elected office.
